We’re already huge fans of The New Mastersounds guitarist Eddie Roberts. Eddie’s playing is a delirious blend of the sounds of jazz guitar greats like Joe Pass and Kenny Burrell tossed in funk and soul. He’s driven by musical curiosity, so when he joined forces with guitarist-vocalist Shelby Kemp and the Florida-based rhythm section of Taylor and Ashley Galbraith, a new project was born – The Lucky Strokes.
Eddie is based in Denver now, where he founded Color Red Music, an enterprise that works to support the growth and discovery of artists around the world. Color Red presses vinyl that lives up to the Color Red slogan – vintage sounds with modern soul. The Lucky Strokes band fits that bill – deep in the pocket, very, very funky and soul deep. Lucky us.
