We are so ready for what we know will be a sunny dose of positivity from this incredible guitarist, sweet-voiced native of Hawaii who now calls Nashville home. When it comes to his playing, he easily moves from blistering solos to a choppy rhythm technique he picked up from his late father, the multi-instrumentalist, Ron Artis. The senior Artis played with Rose Royce and Shalamar, two giants in the funk-disco heyday of the 1970s. Listen for it! With a voice that none other than sometime-tour mate Jack Johnson called, “amazing,” this set will be an uplifting draught of electric blues, funky rock, sweet soul, and provocative folk. The world is a vexing place, but Ron’s attitude helps him keep everything in perspective “It’s easy to feel completely helpless and worthless as far as finding a solution right now,” he says. “But maybe the solution is all of us just walking in the direction of love and somehow collectively making a big shift. I can take two steps. He’s taking four. She’s taking one. It magnifies and multiples.”
