Telluride Town Park Main Stage
In Telluride Town Park it's not the altitude that'll take your breath away, it's the views! Enjoy three days of music on the Main Stage, accompanied by stunning mountain views, some of the best craft breweries in the country, a wide variety of food and craft vendors, a kid’s area and more.
When you attend a festival in Telluride Town Park, you’re just not seeing another show, you’re joining on a long legacy of legendary events and performances! Since the early 1970’s the Telluride Town Park has hosted some of the world’s best artists at the end of the box canyon including, The Allman Brothers Band, Lou Reed, BB King, Robert Plant, James Brown, Joe Cocker, Etta James, Willie Nelson, ZZ Top, The B-52’s, Joe Walsh, The Black Crowes, Peter Frampton, Steve Winwood, Taj Mahal, Bruce Hornsby, Sharon Jones and so many more at the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival alone.
In 1991, the Town of Telluride had outgrown the performance stage in Town Park. With an expanding summer economy, the Fred Shellman Memorial Stage was built in its place. In July of that year, Taj Mahal famously sat-in during The Allman Brothers set at the Telluride Mid-Summer Music Festival. The song they performed? "Statesboro Blues".
At the 2015 Telluride Blues & Brews Festival, it was once again time for a new stage and who other than, Greg Allman was set to perform the last show ever on the historic stage. To everyone’s delight, Taj Mahal once again was invited to sit in as a guest of Allman for another rendition of the song "Statesboro Blues" 25 years after the original collaboration. Imagine that. Gregg and Taj were among the first to play on the stage and the last to perform on it.
In 2016 a new and state-of-art stage was completed to host another era of legendary shows. Join us in Telluride Town Park and help us build the next chapter of this spectacular legacy!
Blues stage
Added in 2015, the Blues Stage is a second music stage conveniently located inside the festival grounds in the indoor Town Park Hanley Pavilion where you can enjoy comfortable theatre-style chairs to give your legs a rest and a full bar with beer, wine and cocktails. The 'Blues Stage' is your source for additional musical performances and comedic sets throughout the festival weekend! The Blues Stage is also the largest Juke Joint venue.
Campground Stage
A special perk is in store for those camping at the festival! The Campground Stage is host to Campground Sessions shows each day through out the festival. The Campground Stage is an alluring wooden stage surrounded by the towering trees of the Town Park Campground. The treasured stage was built by a local craftsman using wood from a nearby river, offering a truly rustic and intimate setting in which to see festival artists up, close and personal.
Late Night Venues “Juke Joints”
The nightlife in Telluride is thriving scene built upon a musically-charged local culture. After the music ends in Town Park for the evening, we move the festival scene into various music venues located throughout the town of Telluride. These are our "Juke Joints" and, once they get jamming, a walk down Main Street feels like a walk down Beale Street in Memphis. Juke Joint shows are all hosted within walking distance of the Main Stage in a variety of venues from the historic Sheridan Opera House, to the cozy Moon at O'Bannon’s. From jammed out performances that approach last call, to foot-stomping rock shows and legendary collaborations, the Juke Joint shows are not to be missed.
